Do you enjoy a British mystery, a village with interesting characters, a real whodunit? Then, Whisper Singing is for you. It is set in Barra, Pennsylvania—the Irish-American version of a village. On Saint Patrick's Day, Bree McNamara, daughter of an Irish Traveller and a homicide detective, finds the dead, bloody body of Father Francis Coyne on the floor of Saint Brigid's Church.
Many of Barra's blue-collar workers meet at Mac's Café, a restaurant Bree has reluctantly inherited from her father. When police arrest Donnell Connelly, an Irish Traveller and a daily customer of Mac's, Bree begins her own investigation.
The main characters include Tim Mangan, a closeted gay police detective; Detective Jerry Castle, a new love-interest for Bree; and her Aunt Mary, a nun.
Bree doggedly pursues leads. In the end, as all good sleuths and heroines do, Bree identifies the killer.
